The clerk of court’s office does not receive ad valorem taxes; instead, it operates through fees collected for the services it provides. The fee schedules are set by the Louisiana Legislature.
All fees must be paid at the time of service, either through an advanced deposit or by paying as you go.

For any outstanding debt encurred, payment is due within 30 days.  After 60 days, this debt will be considered delinquent.  Delinquent debt will be transferred to the Office of Debt Recovery (ODR).  After transfer, the debt is subject to an additional collection fee of up to twenty-five percent (25%) of the total debt liability, as provided for in LA R.S. 47:1676 (E).   A claim will be filed with the UNITED STATES TREASURY OFFSET PROGRAM. All payments “eligible for offset” will be seized, up to the amount of your debt plus any additional fees.  Additional collection tools will be used to collect the outstanding debt.
